Agreed, but at least he's trying to keep himself relevant. I don't think Martinez will be doing any rematches at this point his career, so Mack shouldn't waste his time. He should go after Geale/Murray/Barker.

Man this guy is a joke, Martinez barely tried against Macklin. Martinez wasnt inspired fighting people that are NOT big names. If he fought Mathew like he fought Chavez big ass, and walked him down throwing all those combinations, man Macklin would get stopped within 5 rounds EASY..Matter of fact, LESS than that. Martinez is dangerous when he throws all those punches and is active.

Chavez walked straight forward, making it easy for Martinez to get his punches off. Macklin actually sat back and BOXED Martinez which brought him success in the fight.

Martinez was taking a nap in that fight until he felt like taking it over and getting Macklin out of there in 3 round.

Macklin is delusional, but then again he was running around the ring and celebrating as if he had won when he pushed Sergio down and it was ruled a knockdown. He wasn't as happy when Sergio got up and was pissed off enough to get Macklin out of there within 3 rounds.

Great assessment of the fights, Macklin despite his age is one of the few in the sport still improving, he fought Sturm like duran(and got ripped off) and fought sergio like he was mayweather and had success, i hope he fights Geale

I was surprised by his performance, I honestly thought he would just bore forward and get KO'd early. He boxed well and was in the fight until the end. Don't know why people pretend he got blown out or something. Sergio struggled with both him and Barker.

I dont think he should fight Martinez again though, he's got a better chance with one of the other title holders.

If Matthew stay active and beats a couple more good fighters in dominant fashion, he may well earn another shot. Unfortunately for him, Serg isn't getting any younger and will probably try and fight a couple more big money fights and throw the deuce.
