Comments Thread For: Danny Williams Continues To Fight Despite The Risks

Eight years ago on a stormy night in Louisville, a city shaped by the exploits of its most famous son Muhammad Ali, Danny Williams knocked out Mike Tyson and briefly found himself standing astride the boxing world.

Ridiculing long-hurled accusations of sluggishness and mental frailty, Williams rained down 26 unanswered blows onto the head of an opponent who could still, at that stage, summon a passable impression of the so-called 'Baddest Man On The Planet', paving the way for the world title fight he had always craved.

What is he really hoping to achieve long term tbh?
Are the BBBoC ever likely to reverse their decision and think, "Hang on, Danny is actually looking pretty good these days, let's give him his license back"..?

I wish him all the best, he's had a decent career. I just hope he has the sense to hang them up and move on with his life before he takes one beating too many and pays for it.

Why doesn't he fight Price and Fury. Is the money too good in Germany and Russia?

If you actually read the article it said the british board of control have banned him from fighting in the UK. He fights abroad under a latvian licence.

I would never ever want to see Price or Fury against Danny Williams in 2013. All it would take is one flush shot and Williams legs will be gone.

It's just terrible to watch now. Just recently he lost to a Finnish boxer nicknamed the "Finnish Butterbean", already an older overweight man himself who barely trains for his fights.
