      To be fair, James Toney basically did the same thing not long after.

      The achievement is better than the win. John Ruiz is ****.

        Ruiz wasn't any hot shakes but was a top five heavyweight at the time and remained one for a very long time after. His resume really isn't too far off from Vitali Klitschko's, if it's off at all.

          also most of the guys ruiz fought were established and in their respective prime...the heavyweight division was actually worth watching back then

            Agreed. I laugh at the opponents today...and to think they said the heavyweight division was weak back then. If only they knew what was coming.
