  • Wow, Floyd can't even fight a washed-up Pacquiao for $200 million and you're telling me he is going to fight Martinez? What a joke.

He won't get anywhere near Manny or Sergio. He's more worried about "not ending up like Ali" and other stuff like that.

Many fancy a Martinez-Mayweather match-up at middleweight, but if one were to ask Mayweather's former trainer and estranged father Floyd Mayweather, Sr., he doesn't want any part of it for his son.

        • Big Floyd is just looking out for HIS son's best interest....wanna knock him for talking like the father of Money May?!?

many feel that this is a fight Floyd CAN lose....majority of the boxing world wants to see him lose....so no matter the size, if dudes think Floyd can be beat by a certain fighter CLOSE to his weight class...they'll push for THAT fight...Manny was too small imo, but dudes STILL said he was THEE dude to beat Floyd....then that started to get blown away by Mosley, Marquez and Bradley....so dudes lost faith in him...NOW its the bigger Maravilla...like Floyd said, thats what this game is about, "WHO CAN BEAT FLOYD MAYWEATHER?"...I guess Sergio is the NEXT guy he was talking about...I get it now...it might take a while for me to digest some of this boxing info regarding fighters I don't really care for until they're in the ring...Floyd is 1 of those dudes...but I'm getting the big picture now...its crazy!!!

          • I dont beleive we will see floyd fight again, the only fight i think might happen is the Pac fight, IF Pac gets his ass kicked against Marquez.

Floyd have repeatedly stated that he boxes for money not for pride, in other words he handpicks his opponents and avoids anyone that posses a real threat.
And that way he can keep his unbeaten aura and keep his fans and milking them for as much money as possible.
Floyd know that if he looses he will loose 75 % of his fans, because its the O he bases his whole persona on.

The only problem I have with that is the fact that he calls himself the GOAT.
And is completly pedantic about it, that is just taking a piss on boxing itself when he refuses to face the other beast`s in the game.

Floyd is just a very skilled boxer that happens to be a coward and a hypocrite at the same time.

thats what Naz said MOST ppl think of Floyd during the May-Mosely 24/7....Naz said he disagreed with that label....I agree with Naz

on the flip, I can see why MANY feel like this with Floyd..I understand totally but I'm not convinced he's a coward that avoids tough fights...I think he's a spoiled lil' b1tch at times...but dude can beat anybody and everybody in the game thats his size imo

There is no denying Floyd's skills inside the ring, he is a complete fighter if there ever was one.

The problem I have is when he starts to say he is the GOAT, and then fights way past prime mosley, blown up Marquez , and sucker punches mentalcase Ortiz, when there where much better, harder fights for him to chose from, then he is just pissing all over boxing and its fans IMO.

Im not sure many people think he loses to Martinez at 154. At 160 is another story but at JMW thats not a fight where has a good chance to lose because of the question marks about Martinez hitting that weight.
This isn't Pac/Oscar or Ward/Dawson. Guys that hadn't been close to the proposed weight in many, many years. Sergio had been fighting there most of his career up until only a few years ago and still weighs in nearly as a JrMW even for his MW fights.

He often comes in at 157. They could do a catch weight at 156 or even try 154, though I'd rather Martinez not be made to come in that low. Would be good for boxing to see Jr in a fight that he's not a massive favourite to win.

                    • Floyd gets more attention than almost every other boxer combined. I'm a Floyd fan but that doesn't mean I have to agree with all his decisions. I understand this is a forum so people should express opinions, but ducking not ducking are just opinions, don't get so derisive
