Comments Thread For: Pacquiao, Marquez Ready For Fourth (And Final?) Chapter

Like it or not, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez are ready to do battle once again.

The longtime in-ring rivals are set to square off December 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. As was the case with chapters two and three, the bout will air live on HBO PPV. The bout was officially announced during a Monday afternoon press conference in downtown Los Angeles as the first stop of a three-city fight tour.

Fret not, however. There are some fresh storylines for an otherwise exhausted topic.

This will be the first (and possibly only) entry of the series in which no title – lineal or alphabet - will be at stake. Pacquiao’s controversial loss to Tim Bradley in June ended a 2 ½ year stay as a welterweight titlist, while Marquez moving up in weight means his 140 lb. belt is not on the line.

I won't mind watching it, since the other 3 were good fights, even thou I thought Marquéz won the last 3..& who knows if this will be their last fight against each other.."Sugar" Ray Robinson & Jake LaMotta fought each other 6 times!! "Sugar" won that series 5-1!!But since they were ALL great fights, no one seemed to mind seeing them fight each other..Now a days LaMotta jokes about it & says "I fought "Sugar" so many times that I'm surprised I'm not diabetic"!

marquez now is in the twighlight years of his boxing career. he wasn't able to knock out his last opponent who was a tier 3 fighter so what makes him think he can do it now. marquez might get bull rushed by pacquiao if he thinks the spring in his legs can keep up in an all out hi-octane slug fest for 12 rounds. counter punching can only do so much but questions on marquez if he can still take one on the chin from pacquiao.

This will be another epic battle but after this 4th fight many Pachaters will say after JMM lost in this fight JMM is already declined and past his prime.. Pacman only beat aging fighters...

            WAR Pacman....

roach can't train. all his fighters are losing. if you can't teach strategy the fighter will lose. pac, khan, and now jr have lost. pacquiao should follow khan's lead and get out.
