Sam Langford and Joe Jeanette fought 10 times, perhaps more.
Wow thats going back a long way, you knew that off the top of your head.. So cleary there have been some 4th fights and beyond, few and far between. anything before 1950 was a different era though, alot less travel etc..
I do find it funny that Juan's Bro was the last relevant one.. Ive watched a few us his fights, but never really got in watching him that much.. But will check out their fights now..

Once upon a time I saw someone say Langford-Jeanette X
And I looked it up, to my amazement, the bastards fought each other at least 10 times.
Such was life as a 'coloured' heavyweight contender.
Not sure if thats the right word , I cant think of any two great champions that have fought 4 times.. Historians go ahead and list them.. Marquez/Pac 4, Its just not needed they should both be fighting for titles, not wasting time at this point.
Ok go ahead name your memorable boxing Quadrilogy.. If you can was that fight really necessary?
I think "quartets" is the correct word, but can be corrected. There have been many of such. As I posted yesterday, Jack Britton and Ted "Kid " Lewis had 20 fights ( and they were white). But in those days a fighter could have 150-250 fights. In the past 50 or more years it's not so common to have as many as 100., and these days a 50 fight career is more than most have.

Reason: typo
Sam McVey, Sam Langford, Harry Wills and Joe Jeannette fought each other 100 times cause guys like Jack Dempsey and Jack Johnson knew they would probably lose to those guys. So Dempsey and Jack Johnson are regarded as "great" now even though they ducked all the black top fighters
