Marcos Maidana: What's Next?

Well I myself am interested in seeing just how improved both Maidana & Alexander are. Because Devon looked amazing when he pitched his shut out over Maidan, but Maidana looked great saturday fighting behind the jab. I remember thinking that if Lucas fought that Maidana, he'd be in for a long night.

But yes, it was posted right here in nsb. Maidana was being looked at before they chose Lopez.

Maidana looked clunky and robotic and doesnt really want to jab, he wants to brawl, but you can tell he is following orders until the mist comes down. Lucas is just so much more polished all round with better fundamentals IMO

Fair point. Its a fight that i want to see and hoepfully it gets made and Maidana doesnt move to 154 as he is way too small

i think he fought a disciplined fight. he basically set up all his power shots with a jab and threw more straight right hands than overhand rights. that's what won him the fight. he didn't fall back on his instincts either and stuck with the gameplan. you rarely see that. soto-karass looked like a bobblehead all night from maidana's hard jabs.

still think 140 is his best Division...but I don't see Maidana beating any of the Top Fighters at 140 or 147 to be honest... don't be shocked if he fights Canelo next though while Canelo waits for Mayweather or Cotto

The whole time I was watching Maidana I thought he looked ready for the taking, I dont think he was liking the body shots he was taking and he reminded me of Khan trying to run against him when he started peddling and jabbing to keep Soto Karass away

Matthysse could go up to 147 and I think he stops Maidana. Maidana is a bully who didnt like the pressure Soto was bringing,his eyes told the story and just a bit more and I think we will see a NO MAS

But Karass bigger than Marcos.

Marcos is bigger and Than Lucas in height and stature.

Makes for a very interesting fight.
