    Danny Williams vs. Chris Byrd

(Don't blame me, I didn't start it - I just ripped off JoeBoxer)

I reckon Danny could take this one. What's he got to fear coming back his way? He took an absolute SHELLACKING off Vitali yet was still ready to carry on and Nady had to call it off. So how is a Byrd pitter-pat gonna bother him?

The only thing that would worry me is that Danny's had a history of problems with his right shoulder and that is Byrd's specialty. But Byrd is getting OLD, and will be taken - I predict - within his next three bouts.

Williams's credentials against guys that have been in the top thirty:

Kali Meehan - W, KOed him in 32 seconds.
Sinan Samil Sam - L, TKO. (Danny said he found he had shingles after. I believe him... he should have beat that fat bastard)
Old Mike Tyson, W, KO 4
Vitali - L, TKO 8. (Got nuts though, eh?)

Williams could take Byrd out easily. Hell, I can't think of anybody from top 10 who couldn't take Byrd out easily.

I like Danny, but I think Byrd would just be too slick for him, even a faded Byrd, i sometimes think people let their hatred for certain boxers cloud their judgement. Byrd by 9 rounds to 3 IMO.

I love Williams. I think he's a highlight reel and fun to watch but he doesn't have the tools necessary to beat Toney, Rahman, Byrd, or Brewster. They would all be fun fights, but no way Danny wins any of those.

Why not Williams-Klitschko? I'd pick Danny to KO Wlad any day.

I'd gamble on him to take Rahman personally. The key word being gamble. Their only common opponent (which proves nothing I know, but...) is Kali Meehan, who Danny Williams disposed of over three rounds and two minutes before Rahman did.

You could say a fired up Danny would never have been able to take out a fat bored Lewis. But would a fired up Rahman have had the chin to outlast an old-but-still-had-something Tyson?
