EXCELLENT CHOICE! Virgil Hunter and Pablo Sarmiento are currently the best trainers in boxing at the moment IMO

Hunter has a lot of work to do with Khan though lol

hunter obviously trains more fighters than just ward, right? idk, this choice is not something i would have guessed. let's see how it goes for them. i really thought he would have gone with someone like richardson or steward.

Khan is like one of those dancing balloon men they put on top of businesses:

        The resemblance is uncanny.....

My thoughts exactly! Hunter is a good choice on his part. I also think Roger could teach him a thing or two or three. Either trainer would tell him to ****in box first and **** later! Good luck Amir.

What in the world makes you think Pablo Sarmiento is one of the best trainers in the world? The best trainers in the world are trainers who have trained and DEVELOPED more than one fighter. Here's a list. Please write it down so you won't get confused again.

            Ignacio Berinstein
            Freddie Roach
            Emmanuel Steward
            Romulo Quirarte
            Eddie Futch
            Angelo Dundee

I think Hunter a better choice, even Garcia is better. Steward's defensive tactics consist of how to lie on his opponents shoulders a la Lewis and Klitschko, and Richardson is mainly a big bag of wind.

I felt all the time that Khan and his team were deliberately making impossible demands on the Roach, saying they wanted him to drop MannyP and Chavez, which they obviously knew he'd never do As for not wanting to share a camp; the camp is shared by 4-5 other fighters, often good ones, who do the sparring, and are sometimes trining for important fighte themselves. It's a communal effort. Sharing the fitness programme doesn't matter, and the personal coachng is personal, they are coached at different times. I'm sure all the top trainers have more than one fighter getting ready for a fight at approximately the same time.

It was a deliberate show of ego by Khan, he didn't need this foolish kind of excuse to change trainers. I don't like the Roach, but Khan was wrong, the flaw is in him alone, and Hunter will be no different. Are we to understand that Khan has to make sure that he isn't taking a fight around the same time as Ward...? He could have done the same thing with the Roach, and most often did. I've read about 20 different comments from Khan where he said that he learned a lot from sparring with MannyP and it was a real advantage to him.

You know, boxers should concentrate on fighting, and leave the bull manure to their managers and trainers. Most boxers are not fitted by either temperament or education to be giving international opinions and do their own PR crap.

I personally think that Ray Arcel was the best of them all, then there was Gil Clancy,Charlie Goldman who taught Angelo Dundee how to train, and Whitey Bimstein. Whitey was a pertner of Ray Arcel, and later with Freddie Brown, another great trainer in his own right. Lou Duva has had a very good record with loads of champions. And all are better tnan The Roach and Steward, and even Angelo Dundee, although Dundee had a coupleof spectacular charismatic fighters.
