You exaggerate Sergio's supposed dominance of the fight not realising that winning most rounds without hurting your opponent ever is not worthy enough to cream your pants over and take away Chavez' best moments of the fight.

      1. Bad cuts mean nothing, they are caused many times by "scraping" punches that partially miss the target.
Bad cuts mean everything. There needs to be enough contact to cause a cut, and believe it or not Chavez was landing good shots the whole fight despite being outlanded every round. Of cource that is not something you Martinez fanboys want to look at.

      2. Chavez didn't "have him break his hand", Martinez broke his hand from repeatedly making contact with Chavez' skull.
A better way to put that is Martinez could not hurt Chavez at all and he tried so hard that he broke his hand, despite promising a knockout before the fight.

      3. Chavez didn't "have him destroy his knees", Martinez is old and hurt his KNEE (singular, one knee) from doing so much dancing in the ring during the process of totally out boxing Chavez.
OR he hurt his knee when Chavez knocked his ass down and almost out. Why act like YOUR little theory is fact, clown?

      4. Yes, he knocked him down and almost finished him with 1 minute to go in a 36 minute fight. Too little too late.
With boxing you only need a second or two to win a fight, not 36 minutes.

Now please reevaluate your argument by simply focusing on and celebrating the late knock down because that's the ONLY thing Chavez did in the fight that he deserves some credit for.
Nah how about this, I will continue to mention these:
Chavez gave him SEVERAL cuts(how many people do that to Martinez?) took all his punches with ease, so much in fact Sergio broke his hand. Chavez knocked him down and almost out like nobody has ever done before, which may have caused his knee to injure.

Don't tell anybody what to do, fanboy.

If it had been in early in the fight, I don't think Martinez would be able to be so mobile. Some of you sound like it happened early in the fight. I don't believe that. I think it was from the KD.

Chavez got to him numerous times. He just didn't do anything about it. He got off way to late to do anything. Waiting for Martinez to be out of breath was his only chance in the end - and he almost succeeded.

Martinez pulled a great performance but Chavez is not a "bum" as many on BS portrait him as. He's not fast, he doesn't win fights because of his athletism. He wins because he is big, strong, powerful and has a lot of heart. He's a former champion and a strong contender. Andy Lee is a contender. Martinez is a champion.

Chavez Jr. can still be top 3 in the division. There's no one out there with Martinez' style. Chavez can run through most of them just because of size and power alone. He'll be back, unless Martinez has affected his mental state.

Who should Sergio fight next? Golovkin? Quillin?
In soccer when the player has a torn ligament in his knee he can barely walk, so maybe it did happend after the KD since he was not running afterwards. It usually take a soccer player at least 6 months to get back.

Martinez is a great boxer but Chavez got balls. The next fight will be different.Chavez learned a lot from the fight. If he trains well and adhere to his training,he'll be a force to reckon with. He's strong. The torn ligament probably happened after the knockdown.

Sergio truly outclassed Chavez jr., but with that said I will love to see a rematch.. Chavez jr. hurt Martinez almost out of there and in the rematch he will go for the kill!! Win or Lose I am a Chavez fan! Props for Maravilla though, fought like a true champion!

Maravilla was badly damaged in the last round and that will take a toll. When you're at that age (37) and took that kind of punishment,it will take a toll. Chavez took a lot of shot but his youth will be able to handle it plus his strong and can take a punch. Martinez fought well until the last round. I think Chavez will put a lot pressure earlier in the rematch and Martinez age will betray him. Good fight!!

Me too. It was definitely injured by the 11th round. It explains why he looked in so much pain when he went down from chavez putting weight on him. He took quite a while to get up too.
