he should fight another top MW for now. perhaps geale? geale will take it as it brings a fat paycheck and chavez gets a chance to grab 2 belts while he's at it. i think that's the fight to make tbh.

Nah Chavez should fight Macklin and Barker since he was tearing into them and seeing as they were more impressive against Martinez.

Martinez gave a boxing lesson and a royal beat to Chavez for 11 rounds and got careless in the last round and Chavez slipped a lucky punch in there. Chavez is strong but he is too slow and with limited mobility. At the end of the day the best man won.

                Arum going to Arum.

In Texas the ref would have stopped the fight after Martinez was knocked down.

Arum is such an arsehole. He just wants a rematch because he knows he can get big crowds of Mexicans in attendance, which equals big bucks for him. He doesn't care what is in the best interest of boxing.

                  The scores were 111- 117, 118-109, and 118-109. A rematch is unwarranted.

Umm no, that's what a promoter is supposed to do. That's no the issue here, the issue is he wants it in Texas, where Chavez Jr. is known to get away with shady stuff.

It is an issue, because it's this sort of selfish reasoning that prevented the Pac-May fight in favour a redundant, pointless Pac-Marquez 4.

Martinez should fight Ward or Mayweather now. The only folk who want a rematch here are Mexicans.
