Opening the card was Puerto Rican prospect Eddie Gomez out of the Bronx, NY taking on Quinton Whitaker. After a spirited first round that saw Whitaker go down from a low blow then come alive afterward, Gomez was simply too much for Whitaker. The 2nd round saw Gomez pummel and drop Whitaker two times and by the start of the third Gomez had another TKO win when ref Vic Drakulich stops the contest at 15 seconds. Gomez improves to 10-0 (7Kos) while Whitaker drops to 9-10 (6Kos)

Pretty sure he's from Honduras. Went to 1 of his fights in the bronx once and saw honduranian flags waved. But you know the bronx is full of PR's.

Eddie Gomez is Garifuna (Honduran) born in the Bronx. Many of his fights have been in PR. I met him at Juan LaPorte's gym and when he fought at the Paradise Theater. He is a hot prospect.
