A pleasure to watch, really (for me atleast). I think Emmanuel Steward said it best, "I've never seen a fighter make better adjustments than Calzaghe."

Unfortunately his brittle hands did force him to slap a lot of his punches; this, however, did not stop him from having a very respectable KO percentage.
most of his stoppages were favors from refs he was no legend. A legend of ducking and padding maybe

You can laugh at his slaps all you want.

The guy was a big puncher early on in his career, overcome multiple hand injuries and adapted his style to go on and end his career undefeated after beating Hopkins.

A slapping sissy beat one of the best American fighters this era.

whoa now you have to excuse calzaghe for his first 18 title defenses.he was still green. We Calzaghe fans just like to pretend they never happened. The way it really went down was Calzaghe won the title then defeated lacy kessler, jones and hopkins in 4 fights. Calzaghe was astonished at how old hopkins and jones got between the 3 fights it took him to win the tittle and get to them. To this day there is no explanation how it happened. It's a mystery that defies science.

id hardly call it a beating. talk about inflicting zero damage. If calslappy got points for landed punches only the scores would of been something like 120 108 hopkins give or take zero points.

              But you don't.

46 have tried, 46 have failed.

two fighters from two different eras in smw boxing, both fighters I consider greats.. I think its wrong to say Joe was ducking fighters etc, the fact is from early to mid 90's with benn, eubank, collins, mcclellan that was great period of SMW boxing, that period past Joe arrived on the scene and until 06/07 with the arrival of Kessler, Froch,Ward etc, there just wasnt the calibre of fighters for Joe to fight in the division during his reign.. I compare it the HW division with Wlad K, he will go down as a great however he will always be tarnished with the brush that it wasnt a great era for HW boxing.. When Joe was top it wasnt a great era for SMW..

Both top fighters and Warren should just in general shut the **** up.. Seems like someone is getting worried about Eddie Hearn's monopoly of the British scene and TV lol..

I'm not saying he had one punch KO power and those stoppages you posted are just plain weird. One thing I will say that if a fighter is being cleanly hit and outclassed in a British ring, the referee may step in and stop it.

The first video is of Luciano Torres being stopped in the third, haven't seen the fight. Second video was American journeyman Robert Curry being stopped half-way through the first round, definitely su****ious. Don't know for sure who is in the third video but I think it's Anthony Brooks who Calzaghe stopped in 2. Was it the same ref for two of those fights?

I can't help but laugh at the Manfredo gifs though.

you mean to write 46 year olds have tried, 46 year olds have failed.

                      you probs meant 43 anyway.

wow or 46 attempts to find a decent challenger, 45 fails.

But the vids are funny. On freaking ****ty little Eurosport channel for gods sake, and the way Cal poses like he is God after each premature stoppage is unbearable. The stoppages look so bad you would be forgiven thinking that the fights were fixed. Utterly appalling.
