Comments Thread For: Martinez's Trainer: I Hope Chavez Jr. Weighs 190-Pounds

Wynn Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, NV - BoxingScene caught up with Sergio Martinez's trainer Pablo Sarmiento to get his thoughts on their upcoming fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The fight takes place at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las vegas and will be broadcast by HBO pay-per-view.

Its no secret that Chavez has struggled to make weight in some of his recent fights. He routinely rehydrates to over 180 pounds on fight night after squeezing down to the 160 pound weight limit the day before. [Click Here To Read More]

Yeah go ahead & believe that. If Chavez gets that big body on Martinez, trouble.

Against Lee, Jr. seemed to be in the best shape we've ever seen him in. He's gonna have to be in even better shape to beat Martinez. You think Martinez is gonna just allow Chavez to put his weight on him like Rubio did? Fuck outta here, Sergio will clinch/circle/counter. Chavez is gonna have to work more than he has ever before to pin Martinez up against the ropes.

Martinez better start fast because if he doesn't make Jr respect him early, he'll get ran through. He has the power to do it, but I just don't know in this particular fight who will win.
