Comments Thread For: Frank Warren Urges Ricky Hatton To Avoid a Comeback

Frank Warren has urged Ricky Hatton to abandon his ill-advised comeback plans, fearing the inevitable decline of his skills will render his return an anti-climax.

Hatton has called a press conference in Manchester for tomorrow morning when he is to announce his three-year retirement from the sport is over.

The 33-year-old's last outing was a savage second-round knockout by Manny Pacquiao in May 2009 and he has since overcome drug and alcohol problems. [Click Here To Read More]

    Let's be honest Frank.

If Rick needed you to promote him you'd be drooling over it

So presumably Boxnation won't be bidding to televise any of his comeback fights?

It will probably be on Sky Box Office.

doubt it, sky doesnt do ppv for boxing anymore. if its going to be a ppv it will be primetime, otherwise id imagine it will be sky sports.

also, who is going to be his trainer? cant see the preacher doing that job again.

Ricky needs to get on ITV or BBC, bring boxing back to the people. I guess Channel 5 might be an option too.

I believe that Warren is quite right. A Hatton-style fighter doesn't get better with age, but goes in the reverse direction.

Trust me, they would start doing it again for Hatton or Haye vs Vitali.

It's the khan/mcloskey Haye/Harrison type stuff they stopped it for.

If it's going to sell a ton of ppv, they will put it on box office, and those fights would sell a ton of ppv
