Comments Thread For: Team Pacquiao Explain Selection of Marquez Over Bradley

Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38KOs) has officially made up his mind, according to the boxer's adviser Michael Koncz.

Pacquiao has selected his Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39KOs) as the opponent of choice for December 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. HBO Pay-Per-View will carry the event.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two boxers. All three of their previous meetings have ended with controversy. They fought to a controversial draw in 2004. Pacquiao won a controversial twelve round split decision in their 2008 rematch. Last November, they met for a third time - and Pacquiao won a controversial twelve round majority decision. They know they need good PPV numbers because the fights with Clottey, Margarito, Mosley and Bradley where fights that did **** numbers that don't even compare to Floyd's. Bob had to fabricate to make it seem as if Pac was doing so well.. They need numbers that can compete so they have some leverage at the table with Floyd.

Pac vs JMM III was supposedly Pac's best PPV so of course they will fight him.

Team Pac act's like the catchweight they wanted had nothing to do with the Cotto fight falling apart.

Agree Pac needs to do good ppv numbers to negotiate a deal with FMJr.

I have a problem with what seems to be bragging from koncz about a beating they gave a weight drained cotto.
                :gay:

How come no rematch with Bradley? Yes the boxing world may in thier hearts know you really won. But a loss is a L in your column. I guess you should have beat Bradley down like you did Cotto.

Also, let it be known that Bradley called Pac a "chicken ****" and blames Bob Arum for not making the fight.

Sound familiar? O that's right the pac fans ignore logic and truth.....

A true boxing fan would be screaming bull**** (once again) because again, Team Pac are giving the excuse of "entertainment" purposes while avoiding the best fighting the best. Which is what boxing is supposed to be all about.

Now i'm not saying JMM is of no threat but JMM is not a WW and we all know Pac will want to fight him at WW and avoid the best WW's i.e. Floyd and Tim. This has been Pac's pattern of disgrace for years.

Can anyone tell me when Pac last fought the Top 3 or even 4 of the WW devision?

and LOL at Konc saying they embarrassed Cotto, yet Cotto was their first choice and they still wanted him at a catchweight when coming off a loss to Floyd. Team pac is such a disgrace.

Not to happy but let's be honest, it's the most competitive fight out of the 3 choices available.
