Why would it? Martinez was no one until Shane had already mopped Margarito.
Sergio Martinez was the 160lb champion. Margarito came up to 154 for his last three fights (Tuneup against Garcia, Pacquiao, Cotto).
After losing to Shane Mosley, Margarito went for the money and landed on two big PPVs. Why would he fight Martinez in a fight he would likely lose on regular HBO when he had two far more winnable opportunities for much, much more money?
Plus, it's been established that the two really like each other now.Comment

By the time Martinez was ready for a rematch he was fighting at 154 lbs and Margarito was at 147. And when Martinez became a big enough name on HBO to warrant any interest in the fight...Margarito had been already stopped by Mosley and Pac while Margarito moved up to 160 lbs.Comment

Margarito offered him the rematch but he wasnt ready. Even in the build up to pacquaio Martinez said he doesnt want to fight him and he said Margarito beat him fair and square.
All this loud talking just come from his wishing he had the balls to say that to margarito , so instead he trys to take it out on the other mexican. LOLComment
