Hopkins at this stage, can only exceed against fighters who aren't well schooled in certain areas, predominantly infighting or in the clinches, where he can apply most of his trickery. This being mainly because he's closer to 50 than he is 40. Hopkins recently said Ward is his younger self, and Ward as we know isn't oblivious to any of Hopkins' tricks because he does them well himself. It's like Bernard fighting his younger self, it's inevitable on what would occur, no point really. Another thing, hardly anyone is demanding this fight.

LOL at people trying to Force B-Hop into fighting him just because he said they would never fight...that is called RESPECT!
its called ducking or accepting another man is better than you, can even be conceived as cowardice. ward would humiliate hopkins and bernard knows it, they both do

so bernard admitting he would lose badly to ward? coming from hopkins fans mouth

for the last part thats only because hopkins did such a good job to take pressure off himself and try and get this fight out of the publics eye, im sure ward would love to fight bernard because he would get paid.

roy and ward are both superior fighters than bernard ever was and guess what he did? he dodged both because he could not cry robbery after losing to them.

the great hopkins is fine with not being #1, we should all know that by now, he's been that way for decades

Hopkins came from years in prison to become one of the greatest fighters of all time. His acomplishments in boxing at his age are unmatched. He is about as close to being totally fearless as any man I can think of. He is 47 years old. He should retire. If he wants to pick and choose his fights now he has earned that right.

And thank God for that, who would want to see that fight?

Would have been an awesome fight with this current version of Ward against a primer Hops though.
