I don't think you can sell that rematch now. Team Dawson would not take it if they have his best interest in mind, which is not a good bet going off this fight. It's too bad, cause it would have been interesting at 175, though probably less exciting.
I think the KDs were due to Wards clean shots, all the KDs were right on the chin of Chad, right on it. A perfectly placed shot on the chin like that can drop anybody.
Dawson took way more hard and clean shots vs Glen Johnson. Its just dumb to expect a guy who out grew the division 7 years ago to come back down and look like anything but a zombie.
Dawson was drained, I can't believe what an idiot this guy is to agree to this crap. Good win for Ward, he probably would have won anyways, but Dawson had nothing in there.
The amount of punches Chad threw in those 10 rounds, a lot of other fighters would throw that much in 3-4 rounds. That was just as abnormal as a fighter can get. Chad was a ghost in there. But it was his fault.
It's one thing to say, "No excuses, Chad lost, he called out Ward", and it's another thing to just outright deny the possibility of Chad being weight drained.
You can agree to both, Chad might have been drained, but it wasn't Ward's fault.
What a great post. I wish people would stop making it one or the other, you can recognize how great Ward was and at the same time acknowledge that Dawson was drained.
