That's because the risk/reward ratio is pointlessly too high. Vitali is not the half of the fighter he used to be if you judge by the last two fights. I think his body just can't cope with it anymore. If he retires Haye will have all the chances in the world to take that no 2 and maybe even to attack the no 1 again.
It's boxing, it's like that. You can't fight your age, but at least you can retire and not boost someone’s resume who really doesn't deserve it.
Is Trevor Berbick really that great boxer?!
But again it is all up to Vitali. He is the smart man and he knows what he can or can’t do anymore.

You're scraping for excuses for not wanting the fight but there is none. You're just like the Vitali fans in the other thread, afraid of him losing and not willing to admit that he's ducking.
I just think you are funny. You said they both fought nobody buy Haye's nobodies are better. Try reading what your saying and you will see how ridiculous you sound. Vitali is 41 has come back after a long inactive period and did more then he ever should have. And honestly if he retires tomorrow that is fine by me. Then Haye would actually have to fight some in their prime heavyweights if he wants to further his career. And if Haye is as good as he think he is whats the problem with that? But, we all know that it will never happen. Because if Haye doesn't get a fight with an 41 year past his prime fighter that is obviously not the same fighter that he was even a year or so ago, and is on the verge of retirement Haye will never fight again. So in other words Haye needs a past his prime old a$$ fighter to define his career and you all dare to question Vitali and his record? When it is Haye who is the obvious fraud.

Wait, when we say that Lennox was out of shape and old at 38, you go on about how about Vitali is 41 and still going strong. Yet as soon as Haye mentions he wants to fight Klitschko, you say it's time to hang up the gloves and retire. Hypocrites.

In their prime Heavyweights? Those in their prime Hw's aren't as good as Vitali, Vitali is the 2nd best HW in the division and we should critcise Haye for wanting to fight him, after Vitali was the one calling him out. Vitali career is garbage you can't argue with that there's not 1 good name he beat on his resume. Haye has accomplished more than Vitali has that's just a fact.

As I already stated you are a funny guy. The way you make it sound Haye must have dominated the cruiserweight division for a decade when it was actually for a total of four months. He beat an old fighter to win the title and defended it against a very mediocre fighter. Who I bet has to wear head gear on a windy day.

Haye then moves up and to "clean out the bums in the HW division." But instead fighting the Klit bros he made excuses and took the easier softer route by fighting one of the worst belt holders in history. And I personally don't even believe he did enough to beat Valuev. And that fight was by far one one of the most boring fights I have ever had the displeasure to watch. He then fights Fraudly and for almost three rounds neither one of them did much of anything. He then rabbit punched Ruiz into submission in one of worst foul infested fights I have ever seen. Anyone that claims they are a boxing fan would admit that Haye should have been disqualified in that fight. And by the way both Valuev and Ruiz both retired after the Haye fight. Was it because he beat them so bad? Nope, it was because they were both past their prime and done.

He then gets the Wlad fight and spends more time trying to polish Wlad's knob then anything else. He then fights a guy who was 1-3 in his last four fights and the only fighter he beat in those 4 fights had a record of 19-43. He was also ranked 15th in the world and got dominated by Vitali and lost to the highly overrated Tyson Fury.

With that said I would have loved to see this fight when it should happened a couple years ago. And I give Haye credit because he knows Vitali is old and way past his prime and a hell of a lot more vulnerable now then he was when he beat Adamek. And I think that was all part of the plan because his track record proves that he has chosen to take the easy softer way since he moved up to HW.

As far as the in their prime heavyweights. I am sure that Ali was still ranked rather high when he lost to Spinks. But regardless have how high he was ranked he was still way past his prime and rather washed up. And I am sure that there are fighters in the top ten who can beat Vitali and if Haye is so good why shouldn't he go prove himself against some of them instead of wanting to fight an old man? Because something he hasn't done is beat a his prime heavyweight, or at least not an elite one. Because Wlad is the only elite fighter he fought close to being his prime, which he actually no longer is. And Haye got easily dominated.

And I have said it before and I will say it again. I think Haye's fans have confused what he says with what he has actually accomplished in the ring. Because when it comes down to it he really hasn't accomplished much.

                  Absolutely not...
If you have asked me would if I want to see Vitali fights Haye year ago I would definitely said yes. And Vitali was 40 – that’s 3 years older than what Lennox was when he retired.
Lennox that fought Vitali wasn’t different from his prime in that amount how vitali is different now and when he was in his prime. Lennox didn’t really show any signs of getting too old or gassed when he fought Vitali. Vitali has shown that age caught on him, and that is perfectly expectable. He would be 5 years older than what Lennox was when he retired. That’s huge!

Haye is laughable, he talked smack about Klitschko's Brother too and got embarrassed, at this point, Haye needs a Klitschko - but Klitschko doesn't need a David Haye on his resume'. Both Klitschko Brothers have been far and away the more successful fighters without question.

Haye is just fishing for another undeserved paycheck, all too common in the sport.
