You are completly right. But I think people just want to see Valuev get his ass handed to him. Thus they are requesting someone who could do that. Lewis would be the one that could.

On a side note, I'm not sure why everyone has such a negative opinion of this guy. If he would get a little stronger, then he could save the heavyweight division. Boxing needs someone who gets people attention. This guy definitely gets that title. Look at all the attention he has gotten already.

lewis had already fought a guy bigger and arguably stronger - vitali klitschko. he was lucky to have opened a cut above vitali's which eventually stopped the action.

now, valuev is bigger, and also looks pretty damn fierce, but both lewis and either klitschko brother would box circles around valuev.

and if 25 mil wasn't enough to lure lewis back in the ring with klitschko, i doubt that less money would lure him back to fight valuev.

but if he did come back for that(which i say will never happen - lewis coming back since escaping the game on a "somewhat" good note), vk would come out of retirement and then what would lewis do? now, who the hell wants to see lewis waste his time with a subpar boxer like valuev when he could fight an equal level opponent like vitali for more money and a much more entertaining and challenging fight.

It COULD be a tempting offer for Lewis simply becuase it would be an easy way at 40 of regaining a title.

Lewis for me even at 40 would make a mess of Valuev but does he need to step back in the ring, I dont think so.

The boxing world needs a heavyweight star desperately, Valuev is not it, he is too freakish and unschooled, there has to be a fighter out there somewhere who will light the division back up!
