This fight was not sensational, I thought is was boring just as I predicted. Ward just hits and holds with many headbutts in between. Ward is number 1 in his weight class, no arguing that although I think his style lacks excitement. I would love to see him fight Dirrell! Matthysee-Ajose now that was a sensational fight!

I don't consider beating a weight drained fighter a sensational performance. I'm not denying Wards boxing ability, I'm just not a fan of his due to his boring style such as Hopkins. Hopkins is a legend although I never was a fan of his cuz all he does is hit and hold such as Ward.

Dawson didn't look much different than he has in almost every fight since Johnson I. He never recovered from the bomb in the 3rd and took a shelling. Ward was far from boring last night. His inside work was brutal.

Ward has had many boring fights, but yesterdays wasn't one of them. I was definetely more entertained than expected. Ward will go down as a great fighter I'm sure. He is dedicated, talks like he is on a mission and has a quiet personal life. He might not capture the eyes of the american public at large, but less will do.

I saw the fight differently, Dawson appeared on shakey legs since the first knockdown and IMO he never got his legs back. Also, IMO it was evident that the weight affected his ability to box as he did against Hopkins in the rematch. Wards inside game was smart but I wouldn't say it was brutal, Matthysse's inside game last night, now that was brutal!

I don't know. Those hooks and uppercuts were raking in there. I agree Dawson never got his legs back but he looked pretty sharp before that (thought he won the first two rounds), but I think that was a product of Ward staying on him. Dawson has taken his share of shots over the years. That can catch up in general. Ward is a lot better than Hopkins right now and that had affect too.

fair take either way. Methinks Ward will be giving people plenty to debate for a few more years.

Make it 3, I always thought Ward was boring, I honestly was getting sleepy during the fight last night.
