Well, Chad was slower than he's ever been as well as looking tired, sluggish and powerless. I imagine weight played a huge part.

I actually gave Dawson the first two rounds, but from then on he barely threw a punch or used any movement. He just stood there with his hands up. He looked like Oscar did against Pac, lifeless.

It was obviously a factor (Chad hasn't been that badly hurt by fighters at 175 and the last time Ward someone was Pudwill's brother).

      But it's no-one's fault but Chad's.

People here live in some cloud cuckoo land where fighters turn down advantages - do you really think Ward was going to turn down Chad's challenge to make the fight at 168 and say...."no, let's make it fairer, and closer to 175".

At 175, Chad doesn't get KOd. But he still gets beat. Ward is a winner. Chad hasn't fought with fire for a long, long time (Johnson 1). He's been doing just enough for a long time.

Yeah he certainly wasn't doing himself any favor by fighting at 168. And lol at chad being a defensive fighter, because it sure wasn't there tonight

Ward is the best fighter in the world and showed it with his technique, strength and smarts. Chad is known for shutting down at times. Andre simply took it to him for every round.

            Dawson had two problems

            1) He clearly had a great fighter in front of him, who was 100% on his game so even on his best day Dawson still would likely lose.

            2) Dawson clearly was not at his best.

You can make whatever you want of those two issues, but you combine those issues you get what we saw tonight.

Ward saying that he's has to take risk....there was no risk taking for Ward whats so ever....I didn't recognize dawson in the ring guy look all suked up, i was like wow this is sad...Dawson needed to be at his best and at this weight no way he could be at his best...

Weight didn't matter that much, Ward simply outboxed him, Dawson never fought a guy like Ward. Ward's superior boxing ability allowed him to land CLEAN shots to the chin, it allowed him to even neutralize Dawson's jab.

When they asked Dawson how Ward took away his jab he said he didn't know and he's just a great fighter.

Weight was definitely a factor but lets be clear, Ward is an elite level fighter, not many out there with that kind of skill. The punch resistance just wasn't there for Dawson but even at his natural weight, Ward would be an issue for him. Ward wouldn't be able to beat him as convincingly but he'd still win. More than likely taking by way of decision.

im a fan of ward but without a doubt the weight was a issue. ward not hurting dawson that easy if that fight was at 175.

cant blame ward tho, dawson was the one who called him out.
