Comments Thread For: Eddie Hearn: Carl Froch Feels Sorry For Nathan Cleverly

Carl Froch will never face Nathan Cleverly with the IBF super-middleweight champion's promoter Eddie Hearn describing an offer for them to meet as a publicity stunt.

Promoter Frank Warren contacted Hearn, boss of Matchroom, stating he was willing to pay Froch £1million to challenge for Cleverly's WBO light-heavyweight title in Cardiff.

While Hearn admits the figure is accurate, he insists even a sum several times that amount would fail to persuade Froch to leave a high-quality division full of big names.

Once the 35-year-old from Nottingham has negotiated his title defence against Yusaf Mack in November, he is being lined up for rematches against Lucian Bute and Mikkel Kessler. [Click Here To Read More]

The longer this story runs, the more embarrassing it becomes for Warren, he's starting to look like a prize tit now.

Even though Hearn talks **** most of the time, he's right on the money with this one and so far he's schooling Warren in this war of words regarding Froch and Cleverly. Cleverly is a waste of talent. Hearn is completely 1000% correct when he states that Cleverly shouldn't concern himself with true world class opponents like Froch when he's been facing opponents like Karpency. Cleverly looked reallllly bad in that fight and he couldn't even knock the guy out - a complete nobody.

Hearn may state that Froch has no intention of moving up to Light-heavyweight but Froch has said it himself that he may. True as that may be from the horses mouth, Cleverly wouldn't be in his sight - the latter clearly being the worst paper champion we've seen. Not even Chavez Jr was that bad when he was gifted the WBC belt and since then Chavez Jr has really stepped up his opponents. Meanwhile, Cleverly has gone from good domestic and European opponents to utter garbage not even worthy of being domestic rivals whatever nationality they may be.

haha its funny how things repeat them self's !!

this is just the froch v calzaghe situation from 3 or 4 years ago lol

froch tried to vilify calzaghe for not fighting him , trying anything and everything to make the fight happen !

now froch finds himself in the exact same position as calzaghe did all those years ago lol

its a funny old world !

Cleverley should fight Shumenov in the USA with a 50% split!

Froch has recently admitted personally that he makes supermiddleweight so easily he might not even bother with the lightheavyweight division.

Fully rehydrated in the ring against Bute he was 172lb's.

We all know why he was thinking about 175 because Pascal was the champion and a rematch would have been lucrative if he run out of chances at 168.

Hearn is right on the money here.

Nathans a bum and a paper champ who has no real intentions of fighting the best.

Warren is starting to look like a right prick and about time too.

I would love to see Froch flatten Cleverly though.

Ward, Johnson, Kessler, Dirrell,Bute, Taylor, Pascal and Abraham are all better than anyone on Cleverly's record by a mile so be quiet.

Froch also fought Ward, Johnson and Taylor in USA, Abraham in Finland, Kessler in denmark and will be fighting Bute in canada in 2013.

cleverly the clown and boxing biggest joke.

Cleverly is laughed at more than anything else as the coat hanger shouldered wimp has no career. Cleverly is more like Enzo just waiting to be KO'd and forgotten. Sad but Cleverly is no more a boxer than Matt hatton is or was.
