Rare Boxing Battle Today: PR vs. Russia

This is one that is kind of unusual. Today's fight between John Ruiz and Valuev will be a boxing battle between Puerto Rico and Russia. However, I must be one of the few Boricuas rooting for Ruiz, since most Boricuas can't stand the guy's style.

Could this be a new chapter in boxing's rivalries?

That's kind of cool to see it this way.

It's always great to see boxing competition between different countries. As long as there isn't rubbish racism involved, I think it is very entertaining.

Ruiz is going to win by KO.

This reminded me a little of the Olympics competition: Cuba vs Russia

well, i think this might just cause more problems, if this fight goes to a decision, ruiz will have to DOMINATE to get a decision IMO. may see a robbery.

Are you implying that there's still racism in Germany? Adolf syndrome?

I think Puerto Ricans would be considered white in Germany, although I may be wrong. So, I do not think there is a place for racism on that front.

I suppose in 1937 both Nicolay and John would be considered sub-standard by the ****s. Recall that Slavs were considered sub-human by Hitler.

Ruiz would not be considered white. If you compare him to Valuev, you will see the difference. Still, that's just rubbish. You root for your country but that does not mean that the other country is bad or anything. It just adds and nakes things more interesting. Racism sucks!

I agree with you. Racism sucks!

But I think there is a lot more racism in today's America than there is in today's Germany.
