I smell an upset!!!
Dawson not only has to shed half a stone of muscle he has to go to the Andre "homeboy" Ward's back yard to try and take his Super middleweight crown.
Something about this fight make me think we could have an upset on the cards.
For Dawson to be so willing to make all these concessions makes me think he is very confident, just as Ward demanded everything on his terms make me doubt his confidence.
Dawson won a scrappy fight against the legendary Hopkins earlier this year and that fight should put him in good stead for the fight with Ward.
What experience has Ward had to deal with a fighter like Dawson? The Bika fight very scrappy as I expect this one to be. But with the Bika fight, it was a tough fight for Ward but those hometown judges scorecards were a joke.
And this is a very likely to happen this weekend as well, where Ward will be gifted a decision despite Dawson winning more than his fare share of rounds.
Obviously Ward will look to use his rough stuff illegal tactics but Dawson out of anyone is best equipped to deal with this type of fight.
This fight will go the distance, it won't be pretty and there will be points deducted and illegal tactics used, but I think Dawson will have the better of the fight and be the true winner even if the judges deny him it.
Anyone else calling the upset?
