Comments Thread For: Grzegorz Proksa is in Awe of Golovkin's Punching Power

Former EBU middleweight champion Grzegorz Proksa (28-2, 21 KOs) is very impressed with the punching power of WBA "regular" champion Gennady Golovkin (24-0, 21 KOs). Proksa, who had never been down as a pro, got dropped three times by Golovkin on Saturday night at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. After the third knockdown, in the fifth round, the referee had seen enough and waved off the fight.

Gennady is something else. He just laid waste to Proksa.

Everybody he had sparred with said that he hits like mule though.

I haven't been this impressed with someone's overall skillset since Martinez burst on the scene.

And Proksa didn't exactly crumble at every punch. He was really tough, but Golovkin just hit too damn hard.

you could tell from Proksa's facial expressions he was in over his head...I was like "OH NOOOO"...Proksa was one of those cats I THOUGHT could turn out to be a sleeper...guess it may be Golovkin...I said MAYBE!!!!...jury still out on dude but he does display some SERIOUS punching power....should be fun watching him as he step up the comp

I caught of couple of his early fights on a few undercards out here...back then I didn't think much of him because of the comp he was in with....today, same thing but with a lil' more focus on him...I did pick Proksa to beat him, like I said, Proksa was my dude, STILL is...but he gotta step his game up alot of notches before he's threat to the throne...maybe 154 is good for my man Proksa

3xG = ?....time will solve that equation for us

I think proksa is right - golovkin is or may soon be #1 P4P.

golovkin was really impressive yesterday. I think he would beat martinez at this point.

It would be great if his next two fights were against gaele and martinez.

Just watched the card when I got home this morning. I've seen both of these guys before and I really didn't expect Golovkin to blow Proska away that easily at all.

Come on, it's way too early for this. P4P #1 is precious in this sport, and this guy hasn't shown a thing yet.

P4p wise hes in a position to break through. Middleweight has better fighters than people realize, mostly because until now none of them were fighting each other. Theres a few legit lions there. Whoever survives the gauntlet can be a serious star imo.
