"heavy handed, straight forward stalker"??? Was it something with my eyes or did anyone also see very economical, calm, methodical, great balance (as RJJ mentioned), sound technique (no surprise after more than 300 amateur fight won) with solid chin?
In many ways Golovkin reminded me of Chaves senior (the one and only) - he hits without much effort but visibly does damage with every connection. He also reminded me of Kostia Tsiu the way he throws punches always keeping hes weight in the middle.
It's very unpleasant to fight a guy who takes your shot seamingly easily and hurts with every glazing shot.
I have to say that Proksa was very game and showed plenty of heart. He moved well. He was never stopped or on the floor. He had 21ko in his 28 wins so he can punch.
Yet Golovking walked (brutally) through him a didn't spend much energy doing so. No long ago he faced Luhan and it was one short left hand - well timed. Result - Luhan was down and stayed there - first time in his career (went to distance with likes of Abraham etc.)
I'm starting to think that Pirog knew what he was doing when he got hurt in training for this fight (I'm his fun btw).
Geale vs Golovkin is mandatory now and Geale doesn't look so unwilling to fight as Shturm did. Than winner of Chaves vs Martines. I still think that even greatly improved Chaves is not the real champ and even aging Martines will expose him.
In fact I would love to see Golovkin vs Chaves - that would be brutal and very entertaining.
Thanks
Ted
Have you seen in rd 4 he hits Proksa with right hand - Proksa see it and blocks with his left glove. He gets stunned and rocked back anyway.Last edited by TudorMiron; 09-02-2012, 01:46 PM.

Calzaghe wasn't a puncher (other than great rabbit puncher). However luck of punching power in his case should not mislead you. In contrary - records says the truth. 22-0(21) shows that he was busy and presise enough that even without solid punch he boxed his opponents (world title challengers) into some sort of submission.
How many Proksa fights did you see?

it's impossible to say right now, but golovkin looked to be the best MW on the planet last night. we wont know for sure until he fights the winner of chavez and martinez
if you watched the geale and sturm fight you can see the huge gap in class between golovkin and the rest of the pack.

He WILL beat alot of people, but that annoys me more than excites me! Proska with his ability should have boxed rings around Golovkin but he lacks fundamentals, there are many fighters that dont lack these, and since when was proska a KO artist?
IM OBIOUSLY biased but Lara would have done much better than Proska! Proska tries to fight like Roy JJ without the amazing reflexes and speed, Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver showed you it didnt work at the top level with Roy himself, you shouldnt have needed Golovkin to show you this with Proska.
