How did pacquiao "drain" cotto????????????????

The whole catchweight thing has taken on a life of its own. It's ridiculous.
What people forget is that while now we all now recognise Pac as a true WW, back then he was hopping between divisions and WW still seemed like a stretch.
Should Team Pacquaio have requested a CW? No. Because of the sake of 2 pounds, that win gets ******ly discredited (no-one will ever convince me that Floyd's win over Miguel was better - f-ck that). It just wasn't worth it.
And ideally, you shouldn't be asking fighters to come in under the division limits, it's not something that we want.
However, Miguel was NOT drained. Did he fight like a drained fighter? Did he look drained when he was boxing beautifully the first couple of rounds? Or was it the uppercut that Manny landed that changed the fight?
Another thing about the CW thing. People wanted Pac to fight Cotto at 147 - yet wanted Pac to come down for JMM.
It's OK for Miguel to fight a midget at 147 fully - but Pac had to come down to 140 to fight JMM (and let's not forget he did make a concession to 144).
So basically they want Pac to fight bigger fighters at THEIR ideal weight, and fight smaller fighter at THEIR ideal weight also.
Just something to think about.

Logic isn't part of the natural thought process when it comes to these Floyd sniffers.

It makes me laugh how some people have a problem with Pac fighting Cotto at a 1lb less but have no problem with Ward fighting Dawson with a 7lb drop.

ALL DAY IM READING BLAH BLAH HE DRAINED HIM AND WANTS TO DRAIN HIM AGAIN
WELL HERE ARE THE FACTS!
pac came in at 144 lbs against cotto thats 6 lbs heavier than his previous fight (138 vs hatton ) and his heaviest ever and up to 16 lbs heavier than some of his previous 8 fights
cotto came in at 145 ONLY 1 POUND lighter than his previous (146 vs clottey) and 1.5 -2lbs under his previous 8 fights
would u rather have to lose a pound or gain 7 b4 a fight ? i.e. Marquez vs mayweather
one pound is not a "drain" !
odl vs pac was a drain yes but that was Oscars choice he thought he had an easy night vs the midget
think about it
if Danny Garcia (140) fought Broner (130) at a 139 lb "catch weight" who would u be giving the advantage to??????????????
am i the only one who is sick of this ****** bs , yes manny asking for cotto at 150 now that he has grown in to 154 can be considered draining but i personally think 150 is to big for manny an they would be at an equal disadvantage
However forget the past, Pacman got the W. Here's some food for thought. Who is the greater fighter?? And why would the greater fighter find such an immense need for another catchweight against a fighter he's so much better than??

the cw benefited cotto more than it did pac - cotto weighed in only a pound less than his previous fight.
pac, however, weighed in i think 6 pounds higher than his previous fight - therefore cotto was actually destroyed by a bloated pacquiao.

Fact he fought DLH at 147 but he needed a catchweight for Cotto!!
Although Pacquiao went into the fight widely recognized as the leading pound-for-pound boxer in the world, some boxing pundits had speculated that 147 pounds could be too far above his natural weight against the larger De La Hoya. However, due to rehydration after the weigh in, De La Hoya came into the fight actually weighing less than Pacquiao and close to 20 pounds under his usual fighting weight.
Also Cotto I don't think making 145 was a huge deal, I think its was the 147 limit that affected him(same limit they put on Floyd). He normally would weigh in at 146-147, but probably come into the fight at 155-160ish...That's the reason people say he was drained.
Also if lbs are so easy, why do boxers think otherwise: "He had no problems in dealing with Margarito at 150. He hasn't had problems with anyone regarding weight. With Joshua Clottey, they fought at 147. I [went] down to 145. The [rematch], I'm going to do it at my weight. I will not sacrifice my body again for the benefit of another boxer. It won't happen at 147 pounds."
Manny Pacqauio used the catch-weight to his advantage and it handicapped Miguel Cotto. They knew that the catch-weight favored Manny and titled the scale in their favor. If it wasn't important, they wouldn't have requested one.
