BoxingScene.com spoke to an irate Kevin Cunningham shortly after the news broke that IBF welterweight champion Randall Bailey had pulled out of his September 8th fight against Devon Alexander. Cunningham manages and trains Alexander and doesn't buy Bailey's claims of a back injury. He believes the 37 year-old fighter simply wasn't ready for the bout.

Devon has a good beard, Bailey just isn't on the same class. If he lands a monster right hand when Devon isn't looking, then maybe, Bailey can crack but he's a one handed fighter and he has the lowest workrate of anyone thats not a HW, he just isn't that good.

This sucks..Pascal Cloud,Rios Gamboa,Berto Ortiz..This has been a rotten yr no doubt about it...

But we got Martinez/Chavez Jr (which most of us tought would never happen), Ward/Dawson, Mares/Moreno, Donaire/Nishioka (instead of Donaire/Arce), Salido/Garcia, Rios/Alvarado, and all the middleweights fighting each other. All in all, a pretty decent year.
