How Great Was Sugar Ray Robinson?

I havn't seen any of his fights. But I know he is considered the greatest of all time. Does anyone have any of his fights? If so exactly how great is he? I have only seen a highlight or two...

His prime was at 147, but we have zero footage of that unfortunately.

I can make a strong case for Joe Gans, Sam Langford and Henry Armstrong as the greatest of all-time.. Joe Walcott also comes into the equation (Fleischer to the day he died insisted that Walcott was the best welterweight he'd ever seen). I personally think Robinson is over-rated (he was a great, great fighter and a dead cert top five lb4lb all-time for me.. but he is over-rated in my opinion).

Unbelievable. Dude could knock you out with a left hand while backing up on his right heel.

Perfect fighting machine at 147. Only fighter who could have ever beaten him at that weight was Tommy HEanrs *if hearns would have had a chin like marvin hagler*

Your outright bias renders your opinion meaningless.

Don't listen to this guy, Robinson was the Greatest.

How many Robinson fights have you seen at 147? Zero. Fleischer may be the only (or one of the only) men to ever see both Walcott and Robinson fight at 147, and he insisted that Walcott was the best he'd ever seen at 147.

                    That's brillant.

                    "I heard Fleischer say..."

                    Please.

And by the way, how many Joe Gans and Sam Langford fights have YOU seen?
