Comments Thread For: Klitschko vs. Charr Undercard: Six WBC Titles at Stake

Moscow is presently preparing for its biggest boxing card this year and one of the largest in Russian boxing history. An interesting fact is that the label of the card, which is set to take place on September 8 at Olimpiyskiy Sports Arena, is a foreign fighter. WBC heavyweight champion of the world Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40 KOs), from neighboring Ukraine, is a subject of both pure love and hatred from Russian boxing fans, depending on their approach to the Sweet science as a whole. Klitschko faces Manuel Charr (21-0, 11 KOs) of Germany (but originally from Homs, Syria) in a voluntary defense of his title. Charr is ranked #7 by the World Boxing Council.

The WBC world championship is a joke, so it's pretty obvious that the smaller belts are just shit.

Oh to go back to the good old day's of National IE-British, German, Australian ECT. Continental IE-European, African, Asian ECT. + the Commonwealth title instead of all this alphabet B/S!!. From an English point of view, Area, English, British, EBU & Commonwealth is quite good enough! Until a genuine World title shot becomes availible.................

Ignoring the belts, this card is actually pretty damn good.

I'm looking forward to Glazkov-Airich as much as the main event.

And it will be interesting to see if the heavy-handed Abdusalamov will stop the durable McCline.
