a promoter is not in the game to make money for the fighters he is in the game to make money for himself. being called a crook = promoter, politician etc. the fighters, moaley, hopkins, de lahoya, mayweather etc know they don't need king anymore and arum will be fazed out in 2 yrs i bet. the paypouts are peanuts compared to what don made. think for a minute. if a fighter decides to ask how much money he has and there is none then don was to blame. so where does the ACCOUNTANT, FIFNACIAL ADVISOR, be held responsible? i know for a face these fighteres ask for upfront money for cars, houses DEBT! etc. tim witherspoon told me they said sign this tim. sign that tim and he did over and over again. yeah he got 1 million and bought a house and didn't have enough money left over to furnish it. so did don take hearns money or holyfields money? i think not. don didn't invent the wheel. if there are former figters on this board they will ALL TELL YOU being short changed is [part of the game. that's why holmes decided to go with the phrase. I rooted for Tex against Larry Holmes. Talk about being a naive kid. LOL.


At any rate, Don King sucks but honestly his cards back in the day were pure awesome, loaded with good fighters and future champs even though he robbed them all.

still don't get it. nobody was robbed. athletes spend money on cases of champange at partys, buy a MANSION, take care of family they never knew etc.(****** analagy). mom/dad sends you to the store for some sugar or whatever. if they don't count the change we sqeezed a piece of candy, soda and chips out of it tons of times. same with anything concerning moneys. nobody stole. there for the taking. again i challenge anyone in the game to tell the truth. if we are honest we'd like to have the funds we spent on a girl, alcahol, weed, coke, roids, clothes, cars etc and we would live in comfort. instead we blame someone else. i think in basketball penny hardaways advisor said if any athlete told his accountant to bring him all his money to him in 48 hrs they couldn't do it. it aint there. it's tied up in securities etc. charles barkley lost millions early in his career spent on the most populous bird. chickens. do you ever hear him mentionioning it. no he knows he got. hoodwinked, had. many champions would have never got a shot if not for king. i am no king fan but before u all talk the talk make sure you talk to someone who has been there. former fighters speak now or forever hold your peace. doubt they will.
