TAPIA has had a life that a great movie can make people all around the world(people that don't know boxing) love him;the movie can be a classic for the ages.....damn what a tremendous story is his life;R.I.P. CHAMP!!!One of the coolest person that ever lived in this planet!
Red Riding Hood actor Shiloh Fernandez is bringing champion boxer Johnny Tapia back to life in an upcoming movie biopic.
The sportsman had been working on plans to take his life story to the big screen for months before he died in May, and producers are now pressing ahead with the project by casting Fernandez in the title role for Johnny.
The film will focus on the late boxer's traumatic childhood, which saw his father murdered before he was even born and his mother kidnapped, ****d and killed when he was just eight years old.
Hollywood rarely gets it right. They'll turn it into a syrupy love story, or change his character to be unrecognizable (morph him with other fighters). Take the Wind Talkers, that was supposed to be about the Navaho language, but it turned into another Nicolas Cage love story.
