Omar Figueroa is not a tune up for Adrien Broner... Kid would be a handful for Broner, especially in his first fight at 135; recipe for an upset special.

Murray or Rees would be the best (safest, but highest rated and realistic) options for Broner.

Beltran would be a good, but dangerous option. Broner is used to being the bigger and stronger fighter in addition to the more talented and skilled, against Beltran, he wouldn't be the bigger and stronger fighter; I wouldn't be surprised if it's another close decision loss for Beltran, where he has his moments making Broner look bad.

well according to kim, beltran was one of the fighters floated around but it seems HBO rejected it. cant say I blame them tho. not for a wcb card. Mebbe a bad undercard.

You are right. It would be a competitive fight. But that is exactly why the fight won't happen. Saul Alvarez vs Cotto would be a good fight also, and that is why Alvarez is fighting Lopez on Septeber 15.

Floyd Mayweather moved up to 135 and immediately fought the best fighter in the division - twice. If Broner wants to compare himself to Mayweather, he needs to fight one of the two best opponent in the division and defeat them.

The only foe he should be fighting is his addiction to Twinkies and Popeye's.

We all know why they don't want Beltran in there haha. HBO knows it too. They don't wanna have another Williams-Lara upset in their hands.
