Floyd knew he could out box Cotto for 12 rounds but it would have made the fight boring.
So he fought a a more fan friendly fight.

People complain that Mayweather is boring.
Now he is trying to give the fans their money worth.

All Cotto landed where some jabs and body shots. Once he realized he didn't stand a chance in hell in the center of the ring, after the first 4 rounds, he forced Floyd to the ropes more and cut the ring.

Cotto hasn't been prime since 08', but he's past his prime-still good. He's still about the same fighter he was in 09', how much does he have left before he's completely past it, who knows???

Floyd hasn't been prime since 07', but he's still more or less the same fighter he was in 09-10. The only difference is that in 09' he fought Marquez, who's a greater fighter that proved he can fight at that weight, but that style wise has no answer for a superior boxer and doesn't know how to be the agressor against a superior boxer. It was a nightmare for Marquez. And in 10' he fought Mosley, who was a great fight at the time, but was past his prime completely, and wasn't the fighter he used to be 3-4 years before.

In 12' he fought Cotto going up in weight, and Cotto's style during the fight to put pressure on Floyd and force him to the ropes, was effective at times. He just got out fought while he had Floyd on the ropes and got out boxed anytime they were in the center of the ring.

It makes me laugh that this video is in slow motion and lasts 1 min 30. so at normal speed, lets say its 45secs of footage. WOW!!! 45secs of getting hit in a 12 round fight! lol!

You guys think Pacquiao would be able to hit Mayweather like Cotto did? remember Floyd was less accurate than Pacquiao when they both fight Cotto.

Bloated? lol Cotto was in an 11 week training camp with a great coach. Cotto was in the best shape of his life tactically, physically, mentally. And Cotto landed a jab, which he has a very very good jab. Manny has no jab. Do the math son.

The only thing I had beef with Floyd about in the Cotto fight was when he had Cotto hurt bad in the 12th, but he opted to not finish him. Had he stepped on the gas and just threw combination after combination when Cotto was hurt, he probably could have forced a ref stoppage.

It was the same in the Mosley fight, had Floyd pressed the issue a bit more the last couple rounds, he probably could have forced a ref or corner stoppage.
