      Oh Larry...

I asked a question relating to Joshua's recent achievement of becoming an Olympic champion after only 43 amateur fights. I want to see if anyone knows of any other boxers who have achieved such a feat in so many fights.

            Great first post.

I take it 26 fights isn't going to be beaten.

Sonny Liston fought as an amateur for less than a year. His exact record is unknown, but he supposedly brought such devastation to experienced amateurs that he was signed as a professional very quickly.

Cheers son, as far as I know his is the shortest successful amateur career of any boxer considered one of the greats.

Quite an achievement. 43 amateur fights, lose two fights and still win gold. Easily the greatest amateur alive. Nobody will top that.
