Comments Thread For: Alvarado: Let Rios Talk, I'll Show Him This is a Man's Game

Mike Alvarado always sensed Brandon Rios had a healthy respect for him.

The undefeated junior welterweight contender expects that’ll continue throughout the promotion of their highly anticipated fight Oct. 13 in Carson, Calif., a can’t-miss, all-action brawl that already has fight fans salivating.

“People are excited,” Alvarado, 32, said. “People are like, ‘This is the fight we want to see. Take this guy out. We don’t like him.’ Brandon talks a lot, but I think he has a lot more respect for me [than other opponents]. [Click Here To Read More]

This dude has been doing all of the talking and that's usually not his style. I'm not a Rios fan but I respect him for keeping his mouth shut and just training so far. I think he's going to be dangerous in this fight. I'm one of those people who still can't believe this fight is happening. Plus this isn't even the main event! I want to see this fight more than Donaire and Nishioka.

Rios isn't quiet. People need to realise it was Ellie Seckbach who got the quotes and put it on YouTube and others stole it. Ellie is in London.

I disagree with most people, I think Rios stops Alvarado late. Alvarado is only 1" taller than Rios and everyone thinks he is so much bigger, I don't feel he is. Rios was killing himself to make 135, so he will be stronger and healthier at 140. I have watched Alvarado fight and I am just not that impressed. He was getting beaten pillar to post by Prescott and luckily pulled it out in the 10th. Props if he beats Rios but I think the only way to beat Rios is to be technical and outbox him, obviously kind of what Abril did. Alvarado won't, he will **** with him and that plays right into Bam Bam's style. I admit I am a fan of Rios so I guess I am a little biased lol. I will admit I'm wrong if Alvarado wins but I see a late stoppage for Rios.

                    War Bam Bam!!
