Two different sports, if people want to stay amateur that is up to them. There has been plenty of examples of 19-21 year old pro's beating the crap out of a world champions. Why should the amateurs be any different? A great amateur will peak at a similar age, late 20's early 30's, so why should the boxing public be deprived of great amateurs if thats what they choose, or in the case of Cuba, they are forced.

Amir Khan was nearly half the age of Kindelan when they fought in the finals of the olympics and it was a great matchup between a legend and multiple olympic champion against a young star, who was the junior Olympic champion. If you are good enough...you are old enough period. Like I said they are two different sports.

First of all I think most fighters (not all) are in their primes 24-27. 31 most fighters are past it. If the kids cant handle it they should re consider their career path

The biggest farce at the Olympics in terms of boxing is how we have grown ass men beating up kids with limited experience.

Anyone over 30 should either retire or turn pro. It's a joke how they stay around and fight guys in their early 20's rofl.
Don't the kids usually beat the old guys in the olimpics?
The old guys don't always have more expirence. I find they get into boxing at a very late age.
          So no its fine.

            yes , 100 % fair

if this strange idea was accepted , they would have made [ age classes ] like weight classes

anyway . age and experience are 2 different things
