When the Olympics were held in Los Angeles, USA, in 1984, The USA won 9 gold medals, one silver, and one bronze. I didn't hear anyone crying foul then. LOL...it took no Cubans, Russians etc. The U.S. had run of a softened field and an unbelievably deep team that year.

You prove my point, all these comments do. Regardless of missing countries and supposed depth of field, going on to a pro career doesn't mean you were a great amateur. The results are the same. USA cleaned up. USA hosted the games and these guys fought their great pro careers in the USA.
