Living beyond his means big time there.

Even if the fortress was paid off... you seen the lawn? Teh landscaping alone would cost half a million a year alone. Then housekeeping on 109 rooms? DAMN.

What if instead of cleaning his room everyday he just camped in a new room every day until every room was trashed?

Sad man. I did buy me some Warrior Wear back in the day though. LOL.

Well over 40 percent went to taxes, a whole lot went to lawyers and counsel. He was with Don King so that speaks for itself. He had an expensive residence that took a good deal of money just to maintain and apparently irresponsibly extravagant taste. And on top of that, a whole lot of child support.

I would actually feel sorry for him if it wasn't for all the womanizing/children.

Well there is a reason why he wants to fight even more now, and there is a reason why most boxers wants to fight at age 40 plus, Like a lot of people have already pointed out, its difficult to feel sorry for him, Almost every year you hear about him and child support for child number 17 or something, He should have known better, am sure all these women have brought houses and houses on their child supports alone from holyfield.

I don't feel an ounce of sympathy for him. If it was a case of him investing money into a business that failed then yes he'd have my sympathy but what we have here is a case of someone who has more money than sense.

Instead of spending money on expensive cars and expensive houses he should have spent his money on an education. Once you have 200 million there is nothing stopping you from acquiring an education.

I feel sorry for him but damn come on.
I think he total earnings were estimated to be somwhere around 350 million.
Foreman proposed an idea of seminars and classes set up by a national commision to to teach young fighters financial responsibility. Unlikely we'll ever see a national commision. thats really too bad. If you want to hear it George Foreman talks about it in the latest vid uploaded to his official youtube channel. I'm too lazy for links right now.

It really is sad. Most of the time they start making the crazy amounts of money as uneducated kids who came from poverty. They know nothing about money or saving. They never had anyone to teach them. When get the money their old friends, family they didn't know they had, people who pretend to be their friends cling on like leeches and suck away at their hard earned fortune. Not to mention greedy promoters, managers, etc who all want a piece for themselves. It wouldn't be in their best interest to encourage them to protect their money and spend responsibly. I think most people are pretty greedy and people can say they wouldn't take advantage of a friend that way but, how does anyone know unless they themselves have an ignorant friend who's willing to spend tens of thousands on them irresponsibly? It'd be difficult to resist I think. Some do figure things out and get it together before it's too late to get rid of the straglers and save or invest their money but, I think most don't see it coming until it's too late. I just think most people need to be taught and learn how to handle money, preferably starting at a young age. It could easily happen anyone uneduacted about money. hell, it happens to lottery winners all the time, they go from nothing to thinking they can buy the world overnight. It's tragic. I can't always 100% of the blame on them. I financial responsibilty should be taught to everyone from elementary all the way to high school and beyond.

Apparently he still owed 7 million on his mortgage. Yeah 1 million is like the yearly average. One year he paid $1,000,000 in the month of December alone. Christmas lights were a huge factor in that. Not to mention heating ONE HUNDRED NINE ****ING ROOMS.

His house was literally about 2000 sq. ft. smaller than the God damned White House.

and I have thought the EXACT same thing. Just moving from room to room to cut housekeeping costs and physical energy expenses. hahahaha.

He probably had one small piece of furniture in each room. Like a
lawn chair in one, a nightstand in another, a sleeping bag, etc.
I also imagine his refridgerator to be overfilled with Real Deal BBQ Sauce promo bottles and the kitchen floor completely covered in piles of empty bbq sauce botttles from a steady diet of World Famous Holyfield's BBQ Sauce Shakes and BBQ Sauce Soup.

I 100% agree with you about spending money on an education. I think when an uneducated person has ten of millions of dollars they feel like there's no reason to be educated anymore, like the entire point of college is to obtain millions of dollars. It's sad that they don't know any better. I honestly don't see the point in being uneducated and wealthy. Just sounds like a perfect recipe for disaster.
