    whos the best @ 126? chris john, i'll give you that... the man is Invincible.
    @ 130? Broner easily.. dead division.
    @135? its a pretty dead division... and broner will be the best there when he moves up.
    @140? Prob. Tim bradley
    @147? most definitely mayweather
    @154? mayweather is the best title holder in that division, with the best pedigree.
    @160? sergio gets that one
    @168? ward
    @175? Dawson or bhop

    So out of those 8 divisions where the fighters are too small for basketball and football, 6 are most definitely dominated by Americans.

    Anything below 126 is dominated by poor countries, for obvious reasons. But you can say Mares is the best @ 118, and he is american.

    You can literally follow a timeline of growing popularity of the NFL & NBA during the past 40 years and see the decline of American interest in boxing accompanied by the erosion of American Fight prospects.

      Who is going to beat someone like Dwight Howard?? lets be real. There is no athlete in Europe that can match the size and ability of a Dwight Howard.

          It is clear as day, some posters just can't accept it though. Awesomely put.

            This is one of those..."I AM HAPPY THAT AMERICA IS NOT AS GOOD AT BOXING AS THE USE TO BE" Threads Again

            it is still plenty of TOP AMERICAN PRO FIGHTERS...let not great crazy over the Olympics, my Cuban fighters are doing well but I won't start *****ting on other countries because they did not do well Errol Spence, Terrell Gashua will go on to have excellent PRO Careers while many of these guys we will never see or hear from again probably

            Pros, Amateur/Olympics are TOTALLY DIFFERENT!

              It's a **** excuse. You need talent and skill to make it in boxing. Just because many NBA/NFL players weigh the same as a heavyweight doesn't guarantee anything.

              You can't disband the baseball league and expect to get soccer world cup champions. Same thing goes with boxing.

                as far as heavies go its definitely other sports. much more lucrative options in football/basketball/baseball. theres no guaranteeing they will have a great chin but you cant just assume they wouldnt. If lebron or half the other nba freaks trained boxing since they were young it would be only americans in the top 30 at heavy. easily. but on another note, usa boxing has had like 2 good teams since 1980 in the olympics. we still dominate pros. american boxing is mostly a pro style even though thats a broad statement.

                  The problem is how many kids in the US end up in boxing gyms these days. When I was younger I recall a couple local gyms not too far away. Now its few and far between. In the inner cities it used to be a popular place to learn a craft but now not so much. Things may change again though and interest may start to grow again. At least I hope it does. The American Heavy prospects tend to be guys who have started late and are coming from a different sport. Not to say that this formula can not be successful but the talent of the two brothers at the top make it hard to learn on the job and become a champion. Also speaking of the brothers, they are the true reason we we long for credible heavyweight prospects. If Wlad and Vitali never took up boxing the division would be wide open and probably pretty competitive.They truly have been on another level with their dominance.

                    I haven't heard a conversation like this until Wlad started winning again after his multiple ko losses. This was an agenda question that comes up from guys with agendas.

                      Why does everybody think that being big and in top shape will make you a great boxer. Alonzo Mourning physically looks like he would knock everybody out but just look at the punches/slaps he throws while fighting Larry Johnson. You tube it since im not allowed to copy links.
