I don't think the British have a policy of deporting defectors. It's not a perfect example, but Cuban boxing coach Nicolas Cruz was originally hired out to the Irish. When the Cuban government recalled their coaches in the mid-nineties, Cruz defected and stayed in Ireland.

Probably my favorite Cuban fighter from these games is Robeisy Ramirez, 18 years-old. Robeisy is highly talented and he's young enough to learn the professional game early, preventing any weak amateur habits. Actually, all these Cubans are young enough to be molded into great pro fighters. Bring 'em all to the U.S.! lol
