  • For those who say Heavyweight Boxing is not the glamour Division

    Something interesting.

    An easy comparrison too

    Amir Khan Net Worth
How much does Amir Khan make?
    $8 Million

    David Haye Net Worth
How much does David Haye make?
    $20 Million

This is Pre their last fights too, in which Khan made $900,000 and Haye made a minimum of $5,500,000

Both are British fighters, both "made it big" around the same time, both world champions, both been on PPV.

And Haye hasn't even fought in america, where Khan has been on HBO in Vegas main events.

Heavyweight is still the money division, apart from freaks like PBF and Pac.

    HW make more money.

they make more money in a club and they make more money in world title fights. it's always been that way. of late it's eased off a bit, and migrated to germany.

the only fighters who really buck that trend consistently and inherently are pacquiao and mayweather.

Haye is the 3rd biggest draw at Heavyweight, and doesn't have larger drawing power than the 3rd biggest draw in the lower weight classes (Cotto).

I don't even think the 2nd biggest draw at Heavyweight (Vitali) has earned as much money as Cotto has in the past 3-4 years.

If Cotto gets a fight with Canelo at the end of the year, he'll start closing in on Wlad's drawing power as well.

Which means the #3 draw in the lower weight classes has comparable drawing power to the #1 Heavyweight in the world.

      Boy how times have changed.

The only reason you dont know the real amount HW make is because they in Germany right now. But lets just say Wlad/Vitali make truck loads. BTw those Website's dont give you an accurate $ of networth, those websites use robots to search google and find paydays.

Alot of money comes from sponsorships and hidden deals, stadium sales, ticket sales etc. Its been reported that after everything the Klitschko's are getting 10-20m EURO per fight after everything is said and done.

There's a reason they sell out stadiums in Germany of up to 50k people, ALOT of that money goes to them. They been Top 3 Money earners in Boxing for a long time, it just doesnt get reported / leaked because unlike USA, Germany doesnt have a hardon knowing what another man earns like they do in USA with it all being about PPV # and Gate #'s which are often hugely inflated to boost the #'s. ie giving away all the tickets for free but still counting it as paid tickets while paying 1% of it (casinos)

and lol @ idiot thinking Cotto makes more than Vitali, a guy who cant sell 10000 tickets vs a guy who constantly sells out 30-40k arenas, who owns his own promotional company?

Yeaaaaa, good one there you goof

Cotto does not make more money than the Klitschkos, i'd argue that he's even made as much as Haye in the last couple of years.

Haye got 15,000,000 pounds from the Wlad fight, which is over $20,000,000, throw in the $5,000,000+ from Chisora, probably the same for Harrison, a decent sum for Ruiz and Valuev, your looking at 35,000,000 plus.

Dan Rafael of ESPN reports that Miguel Cotto will make a career-best $8 million purse on Saturday night against Floyd Mayweather Jr

And what exactly is the GATE REVENUE generated from these sold out arenas? Do you realize Klitschko fight tickets are sold for peanuts? I can guarantee you they've never done #'s (as in greenbacks) anywhere in the ballpark of what May-Cotto/Pac-Cotto brought in.

Unless you can provide documentation from a legitimate source that will back up your claims.

I'll concede that i might've been wrong on that.

Cotto has brought in somewhere in the neighborhood 25 million in the same time period as all of those fights.

I thought Haye made 15 Million in US dollars? If it's in Euro's/Pounds it definitely puts him over the top. Plus i know he made about 5 for the Chisora fight, 35 altogether plus those other fights doesn't seem all that far-fetched.

Is it possible that Haye has made more money or about the same amount of money as Vitali over the past few years?

No-one knows what the Klitschkos really earn do they? Hard to compare like for like when we don't know the figures.

there is no way cotto makes more then vitali

im guessing pacs earning per fight would be really close to wlads and vitali should be the fourth best earner

the klitschko brothers are a different sort of entity

they promote themselves and cash in on both sides of the equation in that regard

per fight, haye generally makes more than cotto. cotto had the luxury of fighting the two highest paid athletes on the planet (pacquiao and mayweather,) and it's inflated the appearance of his own drawing power.

he has a huge market himself, but i dont believe that cotto generates quite as much money as david haye does in each fight. cotto needs top flight opponents, like canelo, mayweather, and pacquiao, to generate top dollar. chisora is no top opponent, and his fight with haye generated a ton of money and sold out a soccer stadium. much of that cash was generated with slapgate/glassgate, though
