Leonard TKOed Hearns, himself one of the greatest welterweights of all time. Ray should've lost to Hagler, but 160 wasn't his weight and Marvin was one of the greatest at middleweight. Duran is generally recognized as the greatest lightweight of all time. "Sugar" was taken out of his game in their first meeting, but humiliated Roberto in the return match. (Duran happens to be my all-time favorite fighter.) I don't know how a fighter like Leonard could be overrated.
Sugar Ray Leonard : I coulda beat Manny Pacquiao

Initially, it was supposed to be a one time thing moving up to WW. After the fight, people speculated if Manny winning had more to do with Oscar not being prime and coming down to 147 than Manny. ..... So there were still definite questions ..... especially considering that Manny came in at 142 for at 147 limit fight. Manny's next fight, he came in at 138 for a 140lbs fight .....No, you failed big time. You Pacquiaos dramatics always have an excuse for your hero when he doesnt need one. He fought Dlh at 147, but Cotto at 145, lmao.
Anyway, if Cotto weighed in at 146 for Clottey, why not fight Cotto at 147? What's a lb or two right?
And Margarito was the 154 lb champ, not 151.
then was asked to go back up to 145 (or 147) .. but people such as Floyd SR stated that Cotto would win. Looking at it back, I wished it was at 147, as it would not have made a difference. Cotto never said he was drained .... just the haters say it.
Margarito was NOT the champ at 154 .... and he had a bonus of 3lbs over his career fighting weight. Again, Manny was pushing his limits. SO you can't blame him for trying.
You failed in a few points but who's counting, right?Last edited by ADP02; 08-04-2012, 11:57 PM.Comment
