Tarver was definitely pound for pound. Pavlik too but for what he had done at 160, not 170. And IDK on what planet is Hopkins' win over Wright a great one, or even very good. Heck, good is debatable.

Yea Tarver fell after that showing. But he was top five prior to their bout.

Hopkins is also the only person to ever stop Glen Johnson who was undefeated at the time and probably would have dominated middleweight if Bernard wasn't there. We all know how tough Glen Johnson is, Floyd would have had to stop Castillo to equal that. In his prime Bernard was a savage beast much more impressive to me than Floyd.

Johnson would not have "dominated" 160. Or anything close to it. That said, that version of Hopkins...OMG. He was at his peak then.

If you think Floyd had his hands full keeping Castillo up off him can you imagine if he had fought that version of Bernard.

True but 135 was never Floyd's ideal weight and he took on Castillo in his first bout there so it's a bad comparison.

Yeah it was at a catchweight doesn't change the fact that Winky was rated #2 P4P by most and looked absolutely dominant over the past 5 or 6 years except for a controversial draw vs Jermain Taylor. That was a great win Hopkins smothered Winky's jab like no else ever has and beat him decisively.
