This is a fantastic fight but this kind of fight destroys fighters. Rios and Alvarado are not going to be the same after taking this level of punishment.

I called it - Alvarado is a more complete boxer. Rios is slightly better on the inside, but Alvarado is a cut above from mid-range, and even boxing off hte back foot behind the jab.
Alvarado knows how to get leverage on his punches on the inside, which makes up for Rios' ability to turn his punches over better.
It's all about Alvarado being able to perfectly transition from boxing off the back foot, to sitting down on his shots from mid-range, and then biting down on the inside, and timing exchanges.
ROund 6: All Alvrado this round. Punches having muhcmore effect. . Really circling Rios now, doubling, tripling the jab. Landing shots from all angles. . Rios still slipping NICE little quick left hooks on the inside - he really can turn that left hook over on the inside better than anybody. HUGE straight right hand from Alvarado! Series of uppercuts by Alvarado to the head, then series of uppercuts by Rios to the body! HUGE right hand by RIos!! ANOTHER ONE!! ALVARADO BACKING UP NOW!! NOW ALVARADO HOLDS HIS GROUND, AND GIRES BACK!!!! momentarily saving the onslaught from Rios!!! Big straight right to the body by Rios to end the round!!
I thought Rios stole the round when he hurt Alvarado there at the end. .
