... having fought Rahman?
I suspect there's an extremely strong chance he will return from retirement when his injuries are healed, and use his WBC Emeritus status to get himself straight back into a title fight.
However, I was discussing this with someone the other day who said that the four-times-delayed Rahman fight could still take place should he do so.
However, if Vitali returns it will probably be around the summer of 2006. By this time I fully expect Hasim to have already lost the title... in fact, I'd say there's an extremely high possibility he'll lose it in his first defence against Toney without ever having won the belt in the ring.
If Vitali came back and did what we always wanted him to in the first place - take on serious opponents and unify the belts - would this ommission from his record still effect his standing in your eyes? Personally I'd say no as I don't regard Rahman as a serious threat anyway... but what say you?

Of course it will. Infact it is already a shadow over his head now that he is retired.
Try to be objective and you'll find out why.
