21-year old Light Heavyweight Marcus Browne of Staten Island, New York, took a one-point lead into the final round but couldn’t hold off 20-year old Damian Hooper of Australia. Hooper, rated #2 in the world, posted a powerful rally and moves on the round of 16 at the 2012 Olympic Games with a 13-11 win. He got tired. Talent doesn't always win.

Hooper won gold at the youth olympics in Singapore 2 years ago.

It may be heartbreaking for the lad, but he didn't lose to no slouch. Hooper is pretty good.

Hooper is decent, one of the better amateurs Australia has had in recent years. I haven't looked at the draw but he might be a medal chance. He certainly turned it up in the 3rd round with some unorthodox shots to get the win.

Damn, that final round looked like Froch-Bute.

Hooper really turned it on and came out with a deserved win. Well done Aus.

I don't watch amatuer/olypmic boxing ...scoring system 2 corrupt...the on3 round he won 3-2, what happened 2 all the other punches??I'll tell you, 3 of the 5 judges didn't c it so they didn't push the button...Imcompetence@ it's highest level, & olympic officials thinks this a great system, where 60% (#) of judges can miss a punch...
