50 Cent Signs Billy Dib To TMT Stable

Rapper and fledgling boxing promoter 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) has signed IBF featherweight champion Billy Dib of Australia to a promotional contract, according to various media sources.

Also on the new TMT (The Money Team) roster are super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell and Cuban expatriate featherweight Yuriorkis Gamboa.
And of course Floyd Mayweather Jr., 50′s partner in the TMT venture, figures to be involved in future cards as both a promoter and as a headline attraction.

You need fighters of all calibers if you are a promoter.

Dib does suck but Top Rank and Golden Boy have fighter worse. Not every fighter in a promotional company is great. They can have Dib fight in Australia and headline there and be a under card fighter or a future opponent for Gamboa in the States.

True you need all levels but I thought they were targeting top level fighters first before signing the B and C level fighters. We're gonna have to wait and see who they sign next.

The other companies are much larger so they can afford to have a lot of mediocre fighters.

Who's coming out of contract soon?

Chavez? I couldn't see him signing with TMT.

Rigondeaux's contract is about expire if I'm not mistaken. Did he resign with TR? He would be a damn good addition to the stable.

Every promotion company needs most levels of boxers as the cards are graduated from stars to ordinary fighters. If they were all stars, the card would cost a fortune and the cost of admission would have to go up. Otherwise, the promoters would go out of business. And if they were all stars, the company could only be in the business of supplying the main event and maybe the co-main- to other promoters.

Andre Berto tweeted about 5 min ago that he had a 3 hour "power" meeting with 50 cent, and big things are coming...
